summer road trip

Working 60 hour weeks to get ready for vacation makes me more ready to just sleep than to head out for any adventures. I worked until 5, then came home and did the last minute get ready to leave tasks. We drove as far as Yreka. Stayed at Rodeway for el cheapo. Then we got up early to get to Orland about 10 and make a quick tour of Mary Ann's home and garden. Back in the car, through the mega freeway land to Concord. We got a good deal on HOtwire for Crowne Plaza. We had dinner with Uncle John at Marie Calendar's, then back to CP. Tomorrow is barbecue at Beth's. King Tut on Sunday!

Arizona adventure

Friday - read grants, drive to Portland to spend the night.
Saturday - leave Portland, go to Phoenix. Drive to Sedona.
Sunday - hike Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte trail. Evening fun - Star Trek!
Monday - early morning walk to town, hike Devil's Bridge, watch thunderstorm from the deck.
Tuesday - Grand Canyon, Burger King w/ a view for dinner.
Wednesday - Jerome, Montezuma's Castle and Montezuma's well.

Friday - Drive to Prescott
Saturday - Phoenix and home
